Booklet Section:
Seek
spiritual strength by following the prompting of the
Holy Ghost.
"With the gift of the Holy Ghost comes the ability to
develop a powerfully sensitive capacity to make the
right choices. Cultivate that gift."
(Elder
Richard G. Scott, November 1999 Ensign)
Examples of Goals to Accomplish
-
Living the Lord's standards requires that we
cultivate the gift of the Holy Ghost. That
gift helps us understand doctrine and apply it
personally. With help from the Holy Ghost,
find areas in your life you need to change to make
your actions consistent with the Lord's standards.
-
Under the cultivation of the Holy Ghost, your
talents become greatly magnified. With the
help of the spirit, find a talent you can yet
develop and take classes or read books to begin the
process of developing it.
-
The peril of this century is spiritual apathy.
Our spirit requires the sunlight of the Holy Ghost
as well as proper exercise of spiritual functions.
Determine to eliminate one area in your life where
spiritual apathy may be present.
-
A spiritual experience is any incident that helps us
feel the influence of the Holy Ghost or heightens
our spiritual awareness and relationship with the
Godhead. Ask Heavenly Father to help you
better recognize His influence in your life.
Record these events in your journal.
-
Develop a habit of serving with the guidance of the
Holy Ghost. Each morning for one month ask
Heavenly Father to guide you to those you might
serve. Discuss your experiences with your
partner or record them in your journal.
-
Optional Goals: You may design two other goals
to help you seek spiritual strength by following the
prompting of the Holy Ghost.
Goals could be passed off by attending Home, Family
and Personal Enrichment meetings. Classes and
guest speakers can be planned with this in mind.
