Booklet Section: Sustain the Priesthood as the
Authority of God on Earth.

"I have a firm testimony of the power of the priesthood in the
lives of all Church members.  I know it is God's power and
authority on earth to bless our lives and help us bridge
our earthly experiences to the eternities."

(Elaine L. Jack, November 1996 Ensigh)

Examples of Goals to Accomplish

  1. Find two ways to sustain and support family members in their callings and responsibilities.

  2. Honoring the priesthood also means to honor your personal call to serve.  Find two ways you can better magnify your calling.  Learn to take counsel and seek directions from leaders and receive it willingly.

  3. Seek counsel from the conference addresses of the President of the Church.  Find two ways where you can better follow the prophet.

  4. Teach young men in your family to show respect for the priesthood and to be priesthood holders seven days a week rather than just on Sunday.  Help them realize that profanity, pornography and drugs have no place in the lives of a priesthood holder.

  5. Identify two ways you can more fully live the covenants and ordinances you have made in your life.  Write your goals down and every two weeks write down your progress.

  6. If you have received your Patriarchal Blessing, study it carefully... divide it into headings, blessings, information and counsel.  If you have not received your patriarchal blessing yet, prepare to receive yours.

  7. Optional Goals:  You may design two other goals to help you sustain the priesthood as the authority of God on the earth.

Goals could be passed off by attending Home, Family and Personal Enrichment meetings.  Classes and guest speakers can be planned with this in mind.
