Booklet Section:
Rejoice in the Blessings of the Temple, Understand our
Divine Destiny and Strive for Exaltation.
"Shouldn't we expect the journey towards eternal
glory to stretch us? We sometimes rationalize
our preoccupation with this world and our casual
attempts to grow spiritually by trying to console each
other with the notion that living the gospel really
shouldn't require all that much of us. The
Lord's standard of behavior will always be more
demanding than the world's, but then the Lord's
rewards are
infinitely more glorious.. including true rewards are
infinitely more glorious...including true joy, peace
and salvation."

Examples of Goals to Accomplish
-
Increase your participation in all temple
ordinances. If you have yet to become temple
worthy, strive to receive this blessing in your
life.
-
Complete, as much as possible, a family history or
write your own personal history. Share your
work with your extended family.
-
Seek ways to help your family members gain an
appreciation of the heritage they have been given.
-
Display a representation of your favorite temple(s)
in your home. Find opportunities to let your
family members increase their love of the temple by
what you say and the example you set.
-
Believe in yourself. You are a child of God.
You do have something of divinity within you.
Believe in your capacity to do great and good
things. Whenever you start thinking negative
thoughts about yourself, turn it around and think of
all the good things you have to offer.
-
Think of one way you can live a more Christ-like
life: be a better neighbor, improve your language,
be more considerate of family members, etc.
-
Enroll in a genealogy class. Complete at least
four generations on a pedigree chart for your own
family. Complete any ordinance work that still
needs to be finished.
-
Optional Goals: You may design two other goals
to help you rejoice in the blessings of the temple,
understand your divine destiny and strive for
exaltation.
Goals could be passed off by attending Home, Family
and Personal Enrichment meetings. Classes and
guest speakers can be planned with this in mind.
